Student Information

This year's Louisiana Regional Science Bowl will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018, the University of New Orleans. Teams from across the state will compete to represent the State in the National Science Bowl® finals to be held April 26 - April 30, 2018 at the National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

The competition is limited to 28 teams. Up to 2 teams per school may register. Teams will be accepted in order of their registration dates, with first teams preferred over second teams, and second teams preferred over third teams. This allows greater opportunity for more schools to participate. First teams will be accepted and notified beginning November 20, 2017. Space permitting, second teams will be accepted and notified beginning February 5, 2018.

This is a tournament-style academic competition that challenges and recognizes high school students' knowledge in science and math. The competition will be in the form of a round-robin/double-elimination tournament; each team consists of four team members, one alternate player, and a coach. Question categories include biology, chemistry, math, physics, energy, and earth and science.

We are proud to sponsor this academic competition through the National Science Bowl®, and look forward to your school's participation. If you have any questions, please call the Louisiana Regional Science Bowl Coordinator, Michael Anderson, at (504) 734-4055, or e-mail Michael.Anderson@SPR.DOE.GOV.

Please arrive by 7:30am on the day of the event and report directly to Kirshman Hall, location #20 on the UNO Lakefront Campus map.
