This year's Louisiana Regional Science
Bowl will be held Saturday,
March 3, 2012,
the University of New Orleans. Teams from
across the state will compete to
represent the State in the National
Science Bowl® finals to be held April 26
- 30, 2012, at the National 4-H Center
in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
At the national competition, the top two
teams in each division will earn a
monetary prize for their schools.
The top five teams will receive prizes
and the opportunity to visit
International or other DOE offices to
experience hands-on science activities.
Teams for the regional competition are
being selected on a first-come basis,
so please register as soon as possible
but no later than
February 17,
2012.
Competition is in the form of a
morning round-robin session and an
afternoon double elimination tournament.
Teams consist of six people from one
high school: five students, one of
whom is an alternate; and a coach,
usually a science or math teacher.
We are proud to sponsor academic
competition through the National Science
Bowl®, and hope to have your school's
participation. If you have any
questions,
please call the Louisiana Regional
Science Bowl Coordinator, Charlene
Reynolds, at (504) 734-4565, or e-mail
Charlene.Reynolds@spr.doe.gov.
Please arrive by 7:30am on the day of
the event and report directly to
Kirshman Hall, location #20 on the
