Certain costs and financial information pertaining to Deltha-Critique have been extracted from the contract. The redacted information is being withheld pursuant to 5 U.S.C.(b)(4), which states “trade secrets and commercial or financial information obtained from a person are privileged or confidential” are exempt from mandatory public disclosure. Release of these financial figures would permit competitors to scrutinize business strategies, giving competitors an unfair advantage. The Department of Energy has therefore determined the withheld information is exempt from public disclosure pursuant to 5 U.S.C.(b)(4).
